Update: Iraq Veterans Against the War president, Brandon Neely's testimony to UC Davis' Guantanamo Testimonials Project is here: Testimonials.
|
In relation to our segment segment featuring the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW), we'd like to share the following video. . . .
In this video Link, there is footage of Veteran Nick Morgan being trampled by a police horse outside of the last debate at Hofstra University.
We found this unwarranted use of force against a protester, who wasn't doing anything to merit the violence against him, to be shocking. We hope to spread the word to those who would be concerned.

Occupy protesters indicted on felony charges
Seven Occupy protesters were indicted on felony charges by a grand jury in Houston on Tuesday, a spokeswoman for the district attorney’s office says, in connection with their demonstration at the local port as part of a national day of action by the movement.
The decision comes nearly a week after a judge initially dismissed the charges, saying the protesters could not be charged with possessing or using a “criminal instrument” – a felony in Texas – for their use of PVC pipe.
The protesters — three from Austin, four from Houston — put their arms through the pipe and used latches on it to connect together, making their arrest more difficult but not preventing it, said one of their attorneys, Daphne Silverman, of the National Lawyer’s Guild in Houston.

City of Oakland’s Increasing Hostility Toward the Occupy Movement
Over 300 people were arrested in Oakland after police ordered a march of Occupy Oakland protesters to “submit” to an arrest because they were engaged in an unlawful assembly. Hundreds were detained outside of a YMCA. In zip cuffs, many waited for hours to be escorted to a police vehicle and hauled away.
